It sees what you see.

Hold ⌃⌥, ask "what's wrong with this error?", release. HeyMate looks at your screen only for that question, answers out loud, and points its cursor at what it means.

Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode — whichever you already have installed and logged in. No HeyMate account. No second API bill. Ever.

It asks before it acts.

Agents plan read-only first. Nothing is written, clicked, or sent without an approval card. Every change is snapshotted so you can undo.

Mates

Not one assistant. A small team.

Say "make me a mate that tracks my YouTube comments" and HeyMate creates one — with a name, a job, a personality, and a face. Give it a folder to work in. Give it a schedule. It'll report back in its own chat.

  • Souls. Each mate has its own personality prompt and its own memory.
  • Routines. Daily at 9, or every 4 hours. Results land in the mate's chat, even while you're elsewhere.
  • Faces. Twenty built-in, or drop in your own.

"HeyMate agent, add dark mode to this project." HeyMate opens a sandbox in ~/Projects/heymate, has Claude Code or Codex draft a plan, and shows you the plan before a single file changes. Approve it, walk away, and it keeps running even if you quit.
